It is about giving an overall understanding of the development of Western music, from the very specific point of view of the internal pr of langocesses languages and the internal evolution of compositional thought. The author proposes a theoretical hypothesis and a methodology for musical analysis based on Thomas Kuhn’s model of scientific revolutions (La structure des revolutions scientifiques, 1970). This approach has various general objectives; : the aesthetic and analytical judgment of musical works, their historical evaluation, but also the study of the reception of the work and its impact within the musical community.
