The goal of the publication has been to collect musical works that could serve as practice material in ear training / solfège classes while being artistic forms as well. To accomplish this objective, in 2016 the Academy of Music in Gdańsk issued two calls for scores: one internal, directed towards the Academy’s own teachers of composition and ear training, and one external, in the form of a competition. The premise was to combine the usage of voice and percussion instruments.
As a result of those calls for scores, the publication contains compositions of nine teachers (Kamil Cieślik, Tadeusz Dixa, Dagmara Dopierała, Andrzej Dziadek, Piotr Jędrzejczyk, Alina Kowalska-Pińczak, Radosław Łuczkowski, Krzysztof Olczak, Sławomir Zamuszko), as well as two winning works from the competition (by Michał Lazar and Zbigniew Słowik).
